Permit News

Following is a rundown of the current limited entry permit market, primarily in Alaska. If you don’t see something that you think should be included, shoot us an email.

Bay permits were up to $100k by early May. Leases were going for $15-17k. SE permits were up to $130k and almost impossible to find. Leases were around $17k and just as hard to find. Offers for PWS permits moved up to $200k. Recent activity in Cook Inlet permits had them moving at $90k. Area M permits dropped into the $70s

SE permits were getting scarce again with asking prices around $325k. PWS permits were moving in the $160s. Kodiak permits were available in the upper $30s. Area M permits were available as low as $65k.

Asking prices for SE Power Troll permit were available in the low $30s, but there hasn’t been much interest since the King quota came out. Leases were available for as low as $6k. Hand Troll permits were at $10k.

SE dungy permits have been moving recently with prices ranging from $120/pot to $135/pot. Those are some of the lowest prices ever seen. At the other end of the spectrum, the California permits continue to move at $500/pot or better for upper tier permits. Buyers are always looking for Puget Sound dungy cards, with offers in the mid $70s. And leases are up to around $10k for the fall season.
